Artist Trading Cards are miniature works of art – 2 ½ inches (63 mm) x 3 ½ inches (89 mm). ATCs are usually a representation of an artist’s medium, style and a snapshot of their work. ATCs are usually traded or exchanged rather than sold. In this case, images of the cards will illustrate a book about the contributing artists, and the cards will be preserved as a “snapshot” of the arts community in Hamilton County for 2011.
An exhibition of the submissions will premiere on August 13, 2011, as part of the Second Saturday Gallery Walk in Carmel – and remain on public view for approximately one month at French Bleu Fine Art Gallery at 111 West Main Street, Carmel IN 46032.
Participating artists will be interviewed by regular CURRENT arts contributor Barbara E. Cohen for her upcoming book Conversations with the Artists of Hamilton County, Indiana. (Images of the ATCs and artist photos will illustrate the book.)
